Together AI, a startup building cloud infrastructure for open-source artificial intelligence, has raised $800 million in a Series C round that values the company at $8.3 billion, according to reporting from Ventureburn. The figure marks a steep climb from the roughly $3.3 billion valuation the company held just over a year ago.
The round was led by Aramco Ventures, the venture arm tied to Saudi Arabia's state oil giant. The capital positions Together AI to compete more directly against the closed, proprietary systems that have dominated the AI market—a dynamic with implications for cost-sensitive developers and enterprises across Africa and Europe, where access to affordable compute remains a persistent barrier to building homegrown AI products.
