FBI Director Kash Patel invested a six-figure sum in shares of Strategy (MSTR), the software firm best known as one of the largest corporate holders of bitcoin, but did not file the mandatory financial disclosure within the required timeframe, according to a report by the nonpartisan outlet NOTUS. The findings were subsequently covered by CoinDesk.
What the report found
According to NOTUS, Patel acquired a substantial position in MSTR but was late in meeting his disclosure obligations. Senior U.S. federal officials are generally required to report significant securities transactions within set deadlines under ethics and transparency rules, and missing those windows can draw scrutiny even when the underlying investment is otherwise permissible.
