
Oracle Deepens Morocco Bet With Second R&D Hub in Agadir
The US software giant's second Moroccan research centre signals the country's rise as a trusted base for global tech firms building products for European and African markets.

Oracle has opened its second research and development centre in Morocco, choosing the coastal city of Agadir for its latest investment. As TechCabal reported, the move builds on the company's first Moroccan hub in Casablanca, launched about a year ago, which already employs more than 300 engineers. For the Africa–Europe technology corridor, the decision underscores how North Africa is increasingly positioned as a bridge between global software firms and a growing pool of local engineering talent.
Why Morocco Keeps Attracting Investment
Morocco has spent years building the conditions that technology companies value: a steady talent supply, strong connectivity, and policy predictability. According to TechCabal, the country produces roughly 10,000 engineers and IT specialists each year, has internet penetration of about 92.2%, and is linked to the rest of the world by more than a dozen submarine cables.
