Oppo Reno 16 Launches Across Europe and Asia — but Not Yet Africa
Oppo's new Reno 16 series is rolling out market by market with steep price hikes, but Nigeria and South Africa still have no confirmed launch date.

Oppo has begun a staggered global rollout of its Reno 16 smartphone series, but African buyers are once again waiting in line. As TechCabal reported, the phones are already on sale in China, Thailand, Spain and parts of Europe, with more markets in Asia and the UK following through early July 2026. Nigeria and South Africa, however, have no confirmed launch date — a familiar gap in the corridor between where devices debut and where African consumers can actually buy them.
A market-by-market rollout
Rather than a single global launch, Oppo is releasing the Reno 16 lineup in tranches. China received the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro on May 29, 2026, followed by Thailand, Spain and the wider European market from June 25. Full sales in Germany and other European countries open July 3, the same day the UK and Indonesia receive the complete lineup. India launches the Reno 16 and a Reno 16C variant on July 2, while Malaysia closes out the wave on July 8. The Philippines has confirmed a launch without setting a date.
